Eastern Conference Playoff Preview
Well it is that time of year again, playoffs! I will preview the East today, and tomorrow I will work on the West.
Montreal vs Boston:
If the regular season is any indication this should be a short series, but Montreal will be without their captain Saku Koivu and Michael Ryder. The Habs went 8-0 vs Boston this year, and I believe will continue their dominance. Montreal in 5.
Pittsburgh vs Ottawa:
This is a match up of two teams heading in opposite directions. The Penguins have been red hot, while the Sens have been cool and will be missing their captain Daniel Alfredsson. I think Pittsburgh will win this series in six.
Washington vs Philadelphia:
This will be a high scoring affair that Washington should take with home ice. Washington has been one of the hottest teams leading up to the playoffs and the Flyers have cooled off over the past month. Look for Ovechkin to shine in his first post-season appearance. Caps take it in 6
New Jersey vs New York Rangers
Two division rivals square off and New York has dominated the season series, but I think Brodeur will keep the Devils in it with the home ice advantage. Jagr has been hot lately, but I think New Jersey will take this in 6.
Tomorrow I will preview the West.

I am looking forward to the caps/flyers. I hate the flyers and I hope the capitals destroy them in 4. Also, You can’t ask for a better match-up than NY/NJ. I have fond memories of that series a couple years back when they went at it – best of 7. Hopefully these teams can keep up that old fiery dislike for each other!
