Eastern Conference Playoff Preview

Well it is that time of year again, playoffs!  I will preview the East today, and tomorrow I will work on the West.

Montreal vs Boston:

If the regular season is any indication this should be a short series, but Montreal will be without their captain Saku Koivu and Michael Ryder.  The Habs went 8-0 vs Boston this year, and I believe will continue their dominance. Montreal in 5.

Pittsburgh vs Ottawa:

This is a match up of two teams heading in opposite directions.  The Penguins have been red hot, while the Sens have been cool and will be missing their captain Daniel Alfredsson.  I think Pittsburgh will win this series in six.

Washington vs Philadelphia:

This will be a high scoring affair that Washington should take with home ice.  Washington has been one of the hottest teams leading up to the playoffs and the Flyers have cooled off over the past month.  Look for Ovechkin to shine in his first post-season appearance. Caps take it in 6

New Jersey vs New York Rangers

Two division rivals square off and New York has dominated the season series, but I think Brodeur will keep the Devils in it with the home ice advantage.  Jagr has been hot lately, but I think New Jersey will take this in 6.

Tomorrow I will preview the West.

Well, after a solid 5-3 day I am now 39-30 in the week or so that I have been doing this.  I am gradually moving myself away from the average into a decent percentile.  I am just below 57% which is decent but I would like to be in the 60-65% correct range and hopefully today will get me there…

Blues vs Red Wings-Not even close-Detroit 5-2

Canucks vs Wild-Luongo is back but not going to help-Wild win 4-2

Oilers vs Avalanche-Colorado is back and ends the Oils playoff hopes, work on that golf swing Oilers-Avs win 5-2

Well yesterday I went 2-0 to help move me up to 24-19, lets see if I can go perfect again…

Penguins vs Islanders-No Crosby? No worries! Pens win 6-2

Senaters vs Canadiens-Senators have dominated all year, but not tonight. Habs win 3-2

Wild vs Oilers-The first of two all NW games tonight.  It pains me to say this but, Edmonton wins 3-1

Flames vs Avalanche-Two teams heading in the opposite direction-Flames win 4-2

Rangers vs Islanders @ Yankee Stadium

Sources say the NHL will play its third outdoor game next season on New Years Day between the New York Rangers and New York Islanders.

This will likely be the last sporting event ever held at the historic Yankee Stadium and should be quite the setting for this game.

Previous games have been played in Edmonton vs the Montreal Canadiens and this year between Pittsburgh and Buffalo.

Hopefully I can get tickets!
