Since losing all-star forward Sidney Crosby the Pittsburgh Penguins have gone on a tear thanks to Russian sniper Evgeni Malkin. After losing their captain to a high ankle sprain Jan 21 the Pens have gone 5-4-1, although they have lost their last two games in close contests.
Malkin has been on fire with 7 goals and 12 assists in the 10 game stretch.
If they keep this up who needs Sid the Kid? Maybe they do but they are no slouch without him.
